F.A.Q.

Do you run classes for children?
Yes, there are many classes which specialise in teaching children basic fitness and effective self-defence.

Please check out our children's website for further details, or contact your nearest class for more information about local classes.

How old does my child have to be before he/she can join?
Currently, only those children who are 5 years of age or over are legible to join our classes. Please feel free to speak to an instructor at your local class for further information.

I'd like to stay and watch my child participate in a class, is this okay?
Instructors will actively encourage parents or guardians to stay during the childrens classes. Alternatively, children can be left safely with instructors for the duration of the class, but it is the responsibility of parents/guardians to check that the instructor is present on the night of the class.

How do I know that my child or children will be safe while in your classes?
In line with UK national guidelines, the KMA has a Child Protection Policy with which all instructors should be familiar. Please contact us for further information. In addition, all instructors undergo a Disclosure Scotland check and /or have an Australian Working with Children card; they must have a first aid certificate; they must have passed a national Assistant or Full Instructors course, and they must have insurance to teach with KMA.
